how to install synaptic package manager and ssh in ubuntu

In this tutorial i am going to show you how to install “Synaptic” package manager and ssh-server in Ubuntu 11.10 so you will able to connect and manage to your linux-box by shh.

#synaptic is really awesome package manager and i thought it better than default Ubuntu software center in many terms .

# and i am going to show you how to install ssh and basic configuration to make it up and running .

installing synaptic and ssh server



sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install synaptic -y
sudo apt-get install ssh openssh-server -y

update and upgrade


install synaptic



open synaptic and search for ssh


install ssh



open ssh config


change root login to disable


 


generate and save rsa keys




start ssh server


connect using putty or your preferred client


  
if you manage to get this working then you are ready to use ssh and syanptic page manager
